The Norwegian X-99 Class Association together with Åsgårdstrand Sailing Club are looking forward to host the ISAF X99 World Championships 2009 in Åsgårdstrand, one of the most picturesque small towns in the outer parts of the Oslofjord.
Åsgårdstrand is the home of the famous Norwegian Painter Edvard Munch (the painter of “Scream”).
The regatta centre will be in the town Yacht harbors which have hosted a lot of National and International championships in the last years. The race courses are situated just outside the harbor, with a minimum of transport time and a unique position for spectators onshore.
Åsgårdstrand Yacht Club is located in the middle of Åsgårdsstrand and their club house have direct access to the waterfront and harbour. It will be the place-to-be during the week! skipper briefings, race office and after sail arrangements will be located here.
Åsgårdstrand and Horten (Community Centre) hosts various accommodations.
You will find information and prices about campsites, hotels, bed &breakfast and cottages on the official WC website soon, and on the Tourist Office website for the area. www.visithorten.no.
