Welcome to Hankø Race Week 2009 The regatta is open to all boats of the 11m OD, Melges 24, X-99, 5.5mR, Express, H-Boat, Dragon and IOD classes complying with class rules and Notice of Race
The racing area just outside the island of Hankø offers one of the best race courses in Norway, some would say one of the best race courses in the world. The island is located in the south-eastern part of Norway at the Oslo Fjord, not far from the Swedish border. The race course is exposed to sea breezes from the southwest and generally offers very good and fair sailing. The wind conditions are normally stable with no tidal problems. From Oslo to Hankø it`s about 60 minutes drive by car. Fredrikstad is the closest city with 70.000 inhabitants, just 15 minutes drive from Hankø. Hankø is known to be a summer resort with private summer homes and the Hankø Hotel & Spa.
